last night i dreamed that the earth was finally given eyes and the first thing she did was spend an eon staring at space, completely in love with jupiter’s shape

and i think maybe we are just the same

that we are small planets, rotating around a galaxy of other moving beings and because we were given eyes the first thing we do is stare out into our separate cosmos and fall in love with everything we cannot be

and like the earth, we are full of voices which want to kill us, keep us up late drilling black oil out from under our brainstems - but we are full also of love and laughter and good campfire stories, we are full also of voices which try to take care of us, of friends and of family and of a future we shape gently

do not let your eyes deceive you when all they can see are planets that are still and perfect and pristine. you are equally as beautiful, just by breathing. it is not a matter of finding someone who will believe that you are lovely. it is finding the voice inside of you that believes that, and listening. be your own ocean, your own mountains, your own home.

treat your body like you would treat this earth. be proud of it. it is yours and yours alone.
